Artist Statement

Jeanne Marler studied for ten years with Daniel Brient and Hélène Béland at Mission-Renaissance, Montreal, a school specializing in the teaching of art in the style of les Beaux Arts.  Her medium is oil on canvas. She gives art classes on a regular basis and workshops on demand (Paint Your Own Animal Portrait and How to Create Your Own Still Life, for instance). The Shuniah Art Group, Jeanne’s art class in northern Ontario, just recently had a well-received exhibition at Gallery 33 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Her artistic signature is the capturing of the intimacy of her subject. She is in continuous demand as an animal portraitist.  Her landscapes reflect her love of nature.

Jeanne Marler’s paintings are in private collections in London, Los Angeles, Toronto, Ottawa, Thunder Bay and Edmonton as well as in North Carolina, Maine, Vermont, New York, Quebec, and British Columbia.
